My Cabinet
In my head resides a cabinet
filled with words, both thick and thin.
Words I wish I had spoken
words, I wish I had hid.
In the cabinet lay the drawers
filing words, both thick and thin.
Ordered first by chronology
next, by magnitude of sin.
In the drawers is my life
parsed by words, both thick and thin.
Words, I wish I hadn't spoken
words, I wish I hadn't hid.
