Dear Diary

I wear blinders to sleep.
The treeless landscape is
a patchwork of snow & water.
Melting is slowed @ night.

Warm & sunny, snow's gone.
Yesterday, wind & cold rain.
Occasionally, tiny red & white flowers.
No mosquitoes.

Cotton flowers are forever.
Tussock water is waning now,
only in caribou trails.
I saw 2 mosquitoes today.

Can't concentrate w/o my net.
Long sleeve shirt is hot &
DEET cracks my hands.
Damn, I hate mosquitoes.

Robins have come and gone.
Few flurries today &
only 60 days since breakout.
No mosquitoes.
